Your Treasure Is Where Your Heart Is: Riveras Share Their Blessings

Henry Rivera and Bernadette McGuire-RiveraOver the years, Good Samaritan Society members Mr. Henry M. Rivera and Mrs. Bernadette McGuire-Rivera have developed a long-standing and meaningful association with Catholic Charities.

"We wanted to do something that, after we are gone, will continue this relationship," said Henry, a member of the Catholic Charities board of directors. By naming Catholic Charities a beneficiary of their estate, the Riveras are doing just that and helping to sustain the agency's good works.

"It's a magnificent organization—it is the last place individuals can turn when they have nowhere else to go," he said. "Catholic Charities is filling an enormous need, and through this gift, we hope to help individuals and their loved ones put their lives back together."

Henry and Bernadette encourage others to consider bequests as a way to support Catholic Charities. "Estate gifts have the potential to do a tremendous amount of good for a large number of people," Henry said. "Making a bequest is one of the simplest ways to remember what you care about most."

In fact, if you have named Catholic Charities in your will or have otherwise included the agency in your estate plans, you already qualify to become a member of the Good Samaritan Society. If you have not yet notified us of your bequest, please contact Kevin T. Daly, MBA at (202) 772-4313 or kevin.daly@cc-dc.org today.
